Simon from Spectrum Decorating already had a fantastic hand-painted logo. I used this as a starting point for the Spectrum website.

The coloured spheres were re-drawn on computer using the original as a guide. I re-used individual balls to highlight the simple buttons in the navigation bar. The typography uses a lovely geometric font called Blair, which I felt implied the precision in Simon's work.

Simon has a wealth of quirky design ideas - from wallpapering using aged copies of French newspapers, to covering furniture in old copies of the Beano. The simple fresh look of the website gives a neutral backdrop to the photographs of his decorating ideas.
